Alexander B.
Professional Strings, Voice & Musical Theatre Educator
For over 30 years, Alexander has performed professionally as a musician, bringing a lifelong passion for music and performance to students throughout Southern California. Originally born in New York and raised primarily in California, he began playing violin at the age of seven, which greatly contributed to the development of his ear training and musicianship.
At just 10 years old, Alex had the honor of performing for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles. By age 11, he began attending Interlochen Center for the Arts, where he spent eight summers studying under Beverly Rinaldi. Before graduating high school, he had already performed in numerous operas, appeared in television commercials, and even acted in a film.
Alexander went on to study Voice and Opera Performance at both University of Michigan and University of California, Los Angeles. During his studies, he trained with acclaimed instructors Rosemary Russell and Timothy Mussard. As an opera singer, he has performed in hundreds of musical productions and has also appeared in numerous operettas by Gilbert and Sullivan.
In addition to opera and musical theater, Alex has explored a wide range of musical styles, including rock and roll, and has recorded with one of the top-selling artists in the Middle East. Alongside their continued performance career, he also teaches both music and violin to students throughout Southern California and within the San Diego school district.
Outside of music, Alexander enjoys surfing, sailing, and spending time in the ocean. As a parent of two talented young musicians, he is passionate about nurturing creativity, artistry, and confidence in the next generation of performers. He strongly believes in the words of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: “Music is the pathway to the soul.”
