Professional Piano & Percussion Educator
Megan Deedee Chang is a Taiwanese American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, performer, and educator based in New York City. She has played piano, percussion, and guitar, and has experience teaching piano and percussion to children ages 5–11 at a Taiwanese summer camp. She is also a novelist and screenwriter currently pursuing her M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
Megan has a particular love for indie rock, pop, classical music, and musical theatre. She believes music is a powerful way to build confidence, creativity, and self-expression, and loves helping students discover the styles of music that excite them.
With a background in psychology, Megan has taken coursework in child development and worked in an Infant, Children, and Families Laboratory conducting psychological research. Her experience working with children has shaped her patient, encouraging, and adaptable approach to teaching. She strives to create a fun and supportive environment where students can develop strong musical foundations while finding their own voice and relationship with music.
