Professional Drums & Piano Educator

Greg Niemi is a drummer, composer, and educator originally from the Chicago suburbs. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2020. Greg has received many accolades as a freelance musician, including seats in the 2020 Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy and the 2019 Disneyland All-American College Band. While at IU, he was a recipient of both the Avedis Zildjian Percussion Scholarship and the Kenny Aronoff Percussion Scholarship. After graduating from Indiana University, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a freelance musician. He recently graduated with a master’s degree in jazz studies from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where he worked as an Assistant Lecturer for the Division of Contemporary Music.
