Professional Voice & Musical Theatre Educator

Irene is a recent BFA in Music Theatre, with an Honors in Acting graduate from UC Irvine. They started their journey as a musician, studying piano from the age of 5 with Martha Bartles, their grandmother, and a professor of music at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Being from a family of professional musicians, Irene spent most of their childhood in youth symphony, playing cello and piano. They attended Huntington Beach High School, where they were a part of the Academy of the Performing Arts as a Music Theatre and Piano major/minor in Dance. They are a skilled audition prep coach, both for music theatre and acting. As an actor and music director, they are in the unique position to coach voice and music theatre with a live pianist. As a music director, they have played for countless audition workshops with casting directors in New York City from agencies like The Telsey Office and ARC casting. They have experience coaching kids and young adults in singing, acting, and audition prep, as well as classical and beginning piano. Irene has deep knowledge of the music theatre industry and canon, as well as dramatic literature, which allows them to tailor these young performers into their most authentic and expressive performer/actor. They are currently represented by ATB.
