Leila N.

Professional Piano Educator

Leila is a musician with over ten years of experience in piano training and performing, and six years in playing bass guitar. She is an uprising third-year at the University of San Diego, majoring in International Relations with a minor in Arabic and Environmental Studies. Her musical background stems from growing up in a musical family – playing classical piano for ten plus years, saxophone in school band for four years, and self-taught bass guitar for the past six.

She has competed in various state-wide competitions in Texas for piano, played in piano ensembles with 12+ pianos, and participated in seasonal concerts. After experiencing varying types of music lessons, she values the importance of understanding the technicalities of piano, while also cultivating the love and excitement music should bring. She enjoys guiding students to develop both the discipline and genuine appreciation that form a lasting connection to music.

Currently, Leila plays bass in her band “slowtide” around the San Diego area. Leila lives in San Diego, and teaches throughout the southern San Diego region.
